Arctic Cooling Accelero S1
Packaging
The accelero's packaging is similar to the NV series of coolers only it was a lot easier to get into and there were no un-needed sharp edges (caused on the NV series by cutting the seal).
Installation
Start off by unplugging the fan from the default cooler. Then turn the card over and remove the 8 screws being very carefull as you go. I unscrewed each corner a bit at a time so there wasn't tension on one side of the GPU's core.
Next Clean the GPU Core & Memory chips with something that will dry without a trace. Isopropyl alcohol is good, as is lighter fluid (my choice). Make sure you use 100% cotton buds (do not use tissue as it leaves tiny particles).
Once the card is prepared, the first thing to do is install the heatsinks onto the RAM (The regulator heatsink supplied is way too big, so keep the stock one).
This is where I had a problem as the sticky pads on the RAMSinks supplied (3M) are not sticky at all, making them pretty pointless. I ended up using my own thermal pads to secure the RAMSinks to the GPU.
So now the RAMSinks are in place (be 100% sure they are secure, if they wobble at all, chances are they will fall off given time).
Following the supplied instructions, place the heatsink onto the desk and lower the card onto it. Put the screws in place and turn 2 or 3 times (do not tighten them yet), once they are in place you need to put the plastic 'supports' into place.Once in place, tighten the screws one at a time, working on diagonally oposite corners and ensuring you do not crush one side of the GPU core.
It should now be installed.
Temperatures
Overall the temperatures seem to have improved. The GPU is idling at 39°C where before it was 45°C to 50°C. The load temperatures have also improved with the card only hitting 55°C (not bad for passive) where before it was hitting 70°C+.
Conclusion
Overall the Accelero S1 seems a good cooler. I was dissapointed by the poorly designed parts tho, the regulator heatsink was way too big, altho I could imagine someone forcing it on, crushing the components which were in the way. Also the RAMSinks were a major dissapointment.
If I didn't have any of my own thermal pads, it would have cost me an extra £9+ for either Arctic Silver Epoxy or Some new RAMSinks.
The temperatures are around 10°C lower than the stock cooler and it is actually silent as it is passive.
Additional Information
I decided to check how the cooler was and also thought it would look better without the horrid plastic advertising strips.
They were a bit flimsy and were only clipped on, reminded me of a laptop. After I removed them I thought the cooler looked a lot better.

Hi there,
nice review, thanks!
I think you've got a Lian Li case, too... is it possible to mount the case fan at the left side while using the Accelero S1?
